Promoting Your Blog and Keeping Your Audience
A lot of you guys are pretty talented bloggers here. Some of you are even interested in writing for more than just your blog. I can tell you that after having read through your blogs, there are definitely quite a few who should be. While there are a ton of sites out there that claim to be great resources for the aspiring writer or freelancer, most of them are to be honest, crap. They make their money by getting you to join, putting out generic and regurgitated content on a regular basis, promoting other folks offers to show you how to make money as a writer, and showing their advertisers how great their traffic is. There’s rarely anything of real benefit for the person who just wants to learn and improve their own efforts.
In that spirit, I’m going to cop out this week and do some link dropping. I will say that these are places that I visit regularly, always have something worthwhile added, and are usually loaded with good resources whether it’s tips on writing, how to better your traffic, leads on writing gigs, or just all around informative content. One of the best things you can do if you really want to write for a living is network and participate in the freelance writing community. While it’s great to use Facebook and Twitter, your best results will come when you directly engage those involved with a particular niche’. Most of these sites are representative of the freelance community and are great places to learn what freelancing is really about.
